One Card, Claimed Once, Credited Every Time
Actor Partner members can get printed QR business cards. Each card has its own number and its own code. You hand them to actors the way you would hand out your own card, and every actor who signs up through one is credited to you.
Step one: claim the card
When you receive a card, scan it with your phone camera. Because nobody has claimed it yet, you see a short form: your name, your business name and your email. Fill it in and the card is yours.
You will see a confirmation on screen, and an email arrives with your card number and a private link. Keep that email. The link inside it is the only way to change your card's settings later.
Step two: hand it out
From now on, when anyone else scans the card, they skip the form and go straight to the Web For Actors plans page with your referral attached. You do not have to tell them a code or ask them to mention your name.
The referral is remembered for 90 days on that visitor's browser. If an actor scans your card at a workshop and signs up two weeks later from the same phone, it still counts for you.
Step three: point it where you like
Your private link opens a page where you can change where the card sends people. Leave it blank to use the standard Web For Actors offer. Or point it at your own page first, a welcome video or a landing page for your students, as long as it eventually sends them on to webforactors.com.
Your referral is added to whatever address you choose, so you are credited either way. The same page shows how many times the card has been scanned since you claimed it.
Good places to use them
- At the end of a class or workshop, with a sentence about why an actor website matters.
- In the bag with a headshot delivery, next to the prints.
- On the table at an industry mixer or showcase.
- Pinned on a studio notice board, where students scan it in their own time.
A few things to know
Each card can be claimed once. If you hand a fresh card to someone else in your business, they claim it in their own name. If a card ever goes missing or you stop using it, let us know and we will switch it off. Scans then go to the Actor Partner home page instead.
