Each One Is a Trade: Something You Offer, Something You Want
When you register on Actor Partner, you see nine kinds of collaboration. For each one you can say you offer it, you want it, or both. Here is what each one means in practice, with an example of how a trade might look.
1. Live training
Open your social channels to another member for a session, or take over theirs. A voice coach could run a thirty-minute live warm-up on a headshot studio's Instagram, and the studio gets fresh content while the coach meets a new audience.
2. Guest emails
Send a message to your list on behalf of another member, or have them write to theirs about you. A newsletter exchange works best when both lists are a similar size and the message is useful on its own, not just a pitch.
3. Guest posts
Write an article for another member's blog, or host one of theirs. A reel editor writing about what casting directors skip in the first ten seconds is exactly the kind of piece a coaching blog wants.
4. Virtual summits
Host an online seminar with several speakers, or be one of them. Summits pool audiences, so everyone leaves with more contacts than they brought.
5. Be the bonus
Offer a freebie that another member can include with their product, or include one of theirs with yours. A class package that comes with a free headshot consultation is more attractive than either alone.
6. Discount swaps
Give another member's clients a discount, and they do the same for yours. It costs little and gives both of you a reason to mention the other.
7. Link exchange
Link to other trusted actor services from your site, or get linked from theirs. A resources page that points to real businesses helps actors and helps your search visibility at the same time.
8. Speaking engagements
Be the speaker at another member's event, or host a social evening for actors and invite members to present. In-person time builds trust faster than anything online.
9. Podcast interviews
Be a guest on a show, or invite members onto yours. There is a full guide to doing this well in Podcast Guest Swaps That Help Both Shows.
Picking where to start
Do not tick all nine. Pick two you can deliver well this month and two you would most like to receive. A short, honest list makes it easy for another member to propose a fair trade. If you are not sure who to approach first, build a Dream 50 list and work down it with a simple four-email sequence.
